EEE PC News: Fresno, California schools buy 1,000 EEE PCs for students

FresnoBee reports that Fresno, California’s school officials have bought 1,000 EEE PCs for their students, citing the computer’s perfect size to fit school desks.

The report adds that:

Fresno Unified hopes the laptops will help students increase test scores through the ability to research information on the Internet, as well as halt five years of declining enrollment by enticing parents to send their children to the district’s schools.

Whether a Philippine school follows is lead is, well, perhaps one of life’s mysteries, not unless government officials and equally greedy private contractors get a sure buck.
