Samsung unveils Blackjack II as successor to i600

Crave reports that Samsung has unveiled today in the US the Blackjack II. Its predecessor is the Blackjack I (go figure) or the i600.

i600 is my favorite pastor’s current phone after discovering the Samsung smartphone and finding it more intelligent than his previous 9300. He has chucked the 9300 and his other Nokia. He now has two Samsung phones.

The downside? Its powered by Windows Mobile. I still wait for the next-generation smartphones powered by Palm or Linux.

According to Crave’s scoop:

A majority of the changes are on the hardware side. You now get a slightly larger 2.4-inch QVGA display (previously 2.25 inches), the scroll wheel on the right side has also been removed in favor of a front jog wheel, and the bottom row of the QWERTY keyboard now includes more shortcut buttons to the smartphone’s various apps. In addition, the BlackJack II is slightly (and we mean slight; this is still very much a sleek phone) thicker, but for good reason. The extra room was needed to store a higher-capacity 1,700mAh lithium ion battery.

The Blackjack II will be available on AT&T later this year. I’m sure my favorite pastor looks forward to this upgrade soon.
