Google to launch smartphone on Sept. 23

US telco T-Mobile will launch the first smartphone powered by Google’s Android operating system this month, according to the Wall Street Journal.

The Google smartphone is expected to do some serious battle with Apple’s iPhone which is saddled by network-lock and several technical issues.

WSJ also said that the smartphone will start rolling out of stores in October.

Whether it will have WIFI, we would soon find out, and if it does, then I would have to sell my Nokia E71 and have this smartphone to replace it.
