(UPDATED 10:57 pm) Basilan Rep. Wahab Akbar has died due to injuries from a blast that occurred at around 8:00 pm Monday at the South Wing driveway of the House of Representatives complex in Quezon City.

Akbar died at the Far Eastern University Hospital while undergoing treatment.

Gabriela Rep. Luzviminda Ilagan is now at the Malvar General Hospital after sustaining injuries from the blast.

Another solon, Negros Rep. Henry Tevez, was also reported injured and is now confined at the New Era Medical Center.

Ilagan was among the House members who endorsed the impeachment complaint against President Arroyo that is now pending before the chamber’s justice committee.

The blast killed Marcial Tuadlo, Rep. Ilagan’s driver.
