Privacy and civil rights imperiled anew

Over the ZDNet blogs are posts dated July 16 and June 30 about newer and worse Big Brother moves in the UK and US, respectively.

By “Big Brother”, I do not refer to the reality-TV franchise. Its about Big Brother government or the wanton violation of civil liberties in the name of counter-terrorism. The UK and US governments are competing on who is fiercer in negating privacy rights, among many others.

Meanwhile, so-called terrorists continue to plague common people and military efforts remain wanting.

Even companies are involved in violations of privacy rights, like the latest one concerning YouTube, and the surrender of Yahoo! to the social-imperialist and socialist-revisionist China.

How the people will respond to these challenges, we will soon know.
