Palm unveils Treo 800w with GPS and WIFI

Palm has launched the much-anticipated Treo 800w with GPS and WIFI.

No surprises from Palm, this time. As usual, Palm tries to tweak this smartphone to make it easier to use, considering the difficult OS it uses.  Nothing spectacular, really.

Get the Treo 800w’s full specs here.

The downsides?

1. Its a smartphone powered by Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional Edition.

2. Its a CDMA phone, meaning we have to wait for months or a year for a GSM version that may be used in the Philippines.

I’ll choose the Symbian-powered Nokia E71 over this anytime — except when Palm finally launches its next-generation Garnet OS successor.
