Lawyer complains over extortion in aid of a coup d’etat (with photos and link to Fortun complaint)

An inquest panel today heard lawyer Raymond Fortun’s complaint against former Assemblyman Homobono Adaza and several others on alleged extortion and planning a coup d’etat.

Adaza et al were arrested in an entrapment operation in Pasig City. Authorities downplayed the plot but pledge to seriously look into the matter.

Fortun claims that Adaza et al tried to extort $4-million to $10-million from his Japanese client Motonori Sakuma to finance a coup d’etat allegedly being hatched by “powerful personalities” and “friends in the military.

My take: The case is so weird. The story is so overstretched.
