HP 2133, newest EEE PC rival, to start shipping on May 13

HP will start shipping on May 13, 2008 the HP 2133, which many tout as the company’s response to the smash hit that is the Asus EEE PC.

According to the HP 2133 site, the $499 entry level model will have a VIA C7 processor, an 8.9 inch WXGA screen with 1280×800 resolution, 512MB of RAM, 4GB of storage and WIFI.

Two models each will be powered by Suse Linux and Windows Vista respectively.

HP also proudly says that it is “built to last”:
