About twenty people, mostly students, were injured by a blast in front of La Consolacion College meters away from Mendiola Bridge and Malacanang Palace.
A youth coalition leading anti-Arroyo protests issued the following statement:
The Youth Act Now! alliance commiserates with students injured by the La Consolacion blast. We pray for their speedy recovery. We urge the government to look into the incident with both a magnifying lens and a telescope, as it comes amid supposedly stringent security preparations for Holy Week and with only security forces having full access to the area. We want to find the whole truth behind this incident.
