Musings two days before 2008

We went to Cavite last night, with Tart and I cramped at the back of a bright red Pajero owned and driven by Ate Marian. We were surrounded by precious cargo: a box of mugs, clothes and stuff for media noche. The ride from Vito Cruz took about an hour.

A house that normally shelters one of Tart’s aunts becomes too spartan and small whenever we go there for the holidays — and so we were successfully tempted to sleep at Marty’s airconditioned room some houses away. Because we didn’t have blankets, we cringed all through the night!

I also discovered that there’s no extra RJ45 slot on Marty’s router so I have to wait for my turn in the computer. My EEE PC — still without a nickname — didn’t serve me well last night.

Today, we’re at SM Southmall, with Tart meeting some friends on PinoyPSP.com. I went off to look around and discovered Conlins Cafe that offers free WIFI. And so I’m able to write this and read emails.

Tomorrow, I hope to be able to submit to Ma’am Minnie before 3:00 pm my last news articles for the year. By 3:00 pm, I should be somewhere near Mall of Asia for the baptismal rites and party for Perry’s panganay.

In Bulacan, Dad faces a barangay complaint for spewing verbal venom on a neighbor who always prefers to “dahak” during mealtime. Dad’s patience has run out and so we went to bad neighbor and spoke his mind out. Hahaha. Anyway, Dad will file counter-charges of “threat to health and sanitation” and “unjust vexation”.

What a way to end the year.
