PCCorner fails to deliver promised EEE PCs — again

For the second time this week, my friend Jang goes home frustrated. She placed a P5,000 with PCCorner for one unit of the EEE PC that the store advertised will be available on Nov. 5.

The ad is reproduced below:

On Nov. 5, PCCorner said the shipments have been delayed and may be available Nov. 9.

In a text message, Jang told me that she’s had enough. She will get her deposit pronto and leave PCCorner behind. She will get one from Hong Kong, perhaps through friends, where prices are lower and supplies are enough.

The EEE PC 4G model with camera costs HK$2,998 in the megacity’s computer stores.

By the way, the ad is still there on the PCCorner website.
