A landmark event in Cebu City

Scores of bloggers and netizens packed the CAP hall on May 22 in Cebu City for the First Cebu Blog Camp.

A number ofย  bloggers from Manila, Davao and Cagayan de Oro also graced the event.

It was a privilege to have been a speaker at the Cebu Blog Camp, on the topic “citizen journalism and new media”.

Due to time constraints – I had to shorten the presentation and focus on key ideas I’ve learned and I’ve wanted to share. Below is a copy of my presentation:

Citizen Journalism and new media in the Philippines

The battery of speakers and topics at the Cebu Blog Camp should inspire Cebu bloggers to take blogging to a new level.

Congratulations to Winston Almendras, the whole Cebu Blog Camp team, and to the old and new Cebu blogger-friends who sat through my presentation and those of the other speakers.

Thanks also to Cebu Bloggers Society president Vernon Go, former CBS vice president Kevin Ray Chua, and to my hosts Ritche “Tribo” Salgado and Joseph Bacud.
