Beltran asked to do his jailer a P2-million favor; Arroyo regime in deeper s**t

Anakpawis Rep. Crispin Beltran shocked many today with his revelation that it was Francis Ver, deputy secretary-general of President Arroyo’s Kampi party, who tried but failed to bribe him into endorsing the “impeachment complaint” that most people believe as a ploy to vaccinate her from a real ouster move.

Beltran made the revelation this morning. Quoted by GMANews.tv, Beltran said in a privilege speech this morning at the House of Representatives:

He made two offers, while I was at the House session hall for the budget deliberations. Nasa gallery siya, nag-aapura siya [He was at the gallery, was frantic] when he approached me. Una P1 million before noon, then between 1:30 and 2 p.m., sa second offer, binulungan n’ya ko, sabi n’ya may 2M ka dito. I refused his offer and told him na hindi ako basta basta pumipirma

Beltran said he was offered P2-million pesos.

Another congressman, oppositionist Rep. Rufus Rodriguez of Cagayan de Oro City’s 2nd district, followed suit and confirmed that it was Ver who also tried to convince him to sign the impeachment complaint.

The gall of this Ver and the Kampi party! Did it ever occur to them that Arroyo principal was behind Beltran’s arbitraty arrest and detention? Why and how did they even start to think that Beltran will bite their bait and give Arroyo a year of reprieve from valid impeachment proceedings? Kapal ng mukha!

Now, the Arroyo administration and her Kampi party is in deeper s**t. The people will not look kindly on the effort to bastardize the constitutional process of impeachment.
