Released from prison only last Feb. 5, a victim of trumped-up charges by the administration, labor rights lawyer Remigio Saladero Jr. will personally launch his book “Husgahan Natin” today, Feb. 13, 1:00-4:00 pm at Popular Bookstore, Tomas Morato corner Timog Avenue, Quezon City.

The book is a compilation of Saladero’s writings as a columnist for Pinoy Weekly where he offered legal advice to distressed workers. At a time of rising numbers of layoffs and of a persistent drive to oppress workers through various means, the book is a most welcome reprieve and tribute to the Filipino obrero and their advocates such as Saladero.
Lesser mortals would have surrendered and capitulated in the face of arrest, detention and humiliation but not Saladero who is atrue people’s and workers’ lawyer.
