Tomorrow’s headlines: SC’s MOA ruling and beheaded OFW

We can already imagine the headlines of tomorrow’s papers by this time.

The biggest story might as well be the Supreme Court decision regarding the Memorandum of Agreement between the Arroyo government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front, the reactions from the winning camps of local executives and legislators, and especially the Palace and the MILF.

If you wish to review this issue, read the Newsbreak Q&A on the MOA, and the MOA itself.

Closely following should be the news on the execution of an OFW in Saudi Arabia.  The Department of Foreign Affairs confirmed the beheading of Jenifer Bidoya at 10:00 am today in Jeddah. In Manila, the country’s central bank predicted a slow down in OFW remittances by the year-end, due to the effects of the global financial crisis. This is sobering news to the gung-ho propaganda projection of the Arroyo government as it gears for a global migration conference it will host later this month.

Hopefully, the Blog Action Day in the Philippines and elsewhere in the world would also get noticed.
