Court junks rebellion charges vs. Guingona, other civilians
This is good news: The court has dismissed the rebellion case filed against Vice President Teofisto Guingona and scores of civilians charged by the government over the Peninsula Manila protest.
This affirms our people’s right to call for the ouster of a president like Arroyo, and that doing so is not a crime.
The 14 civilians who were kept in detention have been ordered free.
The court decision effectively discredits the Arroyo government’s claim of a conspiracy involving aging leaders and bishops, and including a retired matron maliciously tagged as Jose Maria Sison’s querida.
Emmanuel Velasco who was the same prosecutor in the Batasan 6 case should resign pronto. Mukha na naman siyang tanga.
