The blogosphere is in mourning over the death of Monico “Nick” Atienza, secretary-general of the mythical Kabataan Makabayan during the First Quarter Storm, former political detainee, victim of military torture and military ambuscades, and university professor.

Atienza and Rene O. Villanueva, head writer of Batibot and author of children’s books, multi-awarded writer and playwright. succumbed on the same day, Dec. 5, 2007.
