Senator Antonio Trillanes IV, still detained by the Arroyo government despite the electoral mandate he won as member of the Upper House of Congress, today opened an “office” in the internet.

GMANews.tv reported that the senator’s site at http://www.trillanes.com.ph but a quick visit as of this posting shows that the website is down for unknown reasons.

The news item quoted Trillanes as saying: “I welcome you all to my home in the Internet, the amazing technology that, perhaps unknown to many, played a large and effective role in my election as senator of the Republic of the Philippines.”

Senator Trillanes’s official email addresses are: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] (IT), [email protected] (legal), and [email protected] (legislative).

In the last election campaign, Trillanes relied on volunteers, Friendster and television ads. Many were surprised he emerged a winner, capturing the 11th spot with over 11.1 million votes.
