Nielsen Media presented anew on Thursday night the highlights of the Yahoo-Nielsen study titled Net Index 2009 Philippines which is touted as “the first in-depth media study of internet users in urban Philippines”.

The Yahoo-Nielsen study and other surveys point to the growing role of blogs and new media among the public’s choices for getting information and insight, entertainment, communication and other services formerly dominated entirely by TV, radio, print and outdoor advertising.
Previously, Yahoo and Nielsen released in Dec. 2008 a regional study titled “Online Industry Review”, again said to be “the first-of-its-kind formal study of the online advertising industry in Southeast Asia”.
