Eudora, RP’s erstwhile favorite email software, to be reborn

Eudora, the most preferred email software in the early days of Philippine internet, is set to be reborn. Reuters reports that Qualcomm has donated Eudora to the open source community, allowing tech experts to tinker with the product and to improve it.

In the same report, Mozilla Foundation — the force behind Thunderbird and Firefox — has vowed to take on the challenge and pledged to develop Eudora side by side with Thunderbird.

The next Eudora will be named Penelope.

Eudora is currently available to all interested folks as a sponsored download or with small ads.

Eudora is affectionately named after writer Eudora Welty.
