Filipino bloggers who wish to exercise their rights fully should take to heart two decisions handed down by the United States Federal Elections Commission that recognize blogs and bloggers as media pursuant to US election laws.

In a related news, online newsmagazine Bulatlat has long been denied media accreditation by the House of Representatives. The contast reply of the public information office handling media accreditation was that Bulatlat does not qualify because it is “only” web-based. Or is it perhaps because of Bulatlat’s left-of-center reputation?
