iPhone hacked in Philippines, Israel and US

Scores of iPhones may soon appear in Manila and elsewhere in the Philippines after a local managed to make it work using a Globe SIM. Read the Inquirer report by Erwin Oliva.

An earlier report was published in the Mobile Philippines blog.

It was also reported today that three Israeli engineers have hacked the iPhone to make them work on their local carriers.

In the US, 17-year old George Hotz of New Jersey succeeded in unlocking his iPhone, enabling himself to use his handset on T-Mobile.

This is good news for those who have been lusting over the iPhone since it was first launched in the US.
